This is the short list of what BlackScreen.VIP is and isn’t. The Terms of Use cover the legal side; this page is the plain-language version.

What the tool actually does

It paints a solid color in your browser. That’s it. Whatever you do with that screen — pixel testing, photography lighting, monitor cleaning, OLED battery saving, a quick mockup — is on you.

What it is not

  • Not a hardware calibration tool. A pure hex fullscreen cannot measure gamma, white point, or color accuracy. Use a colorimeter for real calibration work.
  • Not a substitute for a physical green screen for full-body or wide chroma key shots. A monitor is small.
  • Not a substitute for a real ring light for full-scene photography lighting. A screen is bright, but it’s still a small area source.
  • Not medical advice. Notes about OLED life, blue light, night vision, or eye strain are informational, not a prescription.
  • Not legal, security, or financial advice.

Accuracy and consistency

The hex we show is exact in code — but what your screen displays is not.

Your panel type (IPS / OLED / VA), your OS color management, your night mode (Night Shift, Night Light, f.lux, True Tone), and your ambient lighting all shift what you actually see. A “pure” #FF0000 on a brand-new OLED looks different from the same #FF0000 on a 5-year-old IPS with degraded red emitters. That’s a hardware truth, not a bug.

If you need pixel-perfect color work, calibrate your display with a hardware colorimeter.

BlackScreen.VIP is an independent tool. Brand names that show up in examples — Apple, iPhone, Galaxy, OLED, AMOLED, RTINGS, Hardware Unboxed, Firefox, Chrome, Zoom, Meet, Teams, etc. — are referenced for context. No affiliation, endorsement, or partnership is implied. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Output and use

If you download a PNG here and use it somewhere — a slide deck, a print, a video frame, a mockup — you are responsible for checking it looks right on the target device or printer before you ship. Color that looks right on your screen may not translate perfectly.

We do our best to keep the tool accurate and available, but we don’t promise perfection. Use it however it helps you, knowing that the final responsibility sits with you.
